AbMaxx: a looksmaxxing app with $45K a month in cash and two very different asking prices
Figures are source-labeled by TrustMRR and whatsthe.app as cited. WorkAINow has not audited them. Data as of 2026-10-20.
The angle: AbMaxx scans a photo of your abs and builds a workout plan (App Store). It's one of the "looksmaxxing" AI apps, and its marketing runs on social video. Its cash revenue is more than double its MRR, and the two listing sites show asking prices nearly 3× apart.
Snapshot
- TrustMRR today: $19,217 MRR, $44,716 last 30 days, $169,829 lifetime, 5,326 active subscriptions, 40% profit margin (TrustMRR)
- whatsthe.app (data dated 2026-10-01): $17,538 MRR, $49,886 in 28 days, 2,017 subscriptions (whatsthe.app)
- App Store: "AbMaxx: Become Shredded" by Nextgen Labs LLC, released 2026-02-09, rated 4.7 from 1,938 ratings (App Store)
- Marketing channels listed: Instagram, TikTok, Meta ads (TrustMRR). The linked founder account, @linoleighton, has about 6,300 X followers (TrustMRR).
Cash runs ahead of MRR
- 30-day revenue is 2.3× MRR (TrustMRR). Most of that cash is upfront yearly payments and one-off items rather than monthly renewals.
- The price list fits this: five yearly variants from $19.99 to $49.99, weekly plans at $6.99–$9.99, a $11.99 monthly plan, and "4 Guest Scans" at $2.99 (App Store).
- Estimate: about $3.60 MRR per subscription (method: $19,217 ÷ 5,326). That's consistent with mostly cheap yearly plans.
- MRR is up 19.3% over 30 days while 30-day revenue is down 20.4% (TrustMRR). Subscriber count is still growing, but fewer people are paying upfront each month.
Two prices for the same business
- TrustMRR: $1,000,000, listed 2026-06-16 (TrustMRR).
- whatsthe.app: $350,000 (whatsthe.app).
- Estimate: 4.3× vs 1.7× annualized MRR (method: price ÷ (12 × MRR), using each site's MRR). Which price is current is unknown. Ask the seller before relying on either.
What other founders can copy
- Make the scan the hook. "Snap a photo and let our AI analyze your abs" (App Store) gives a personal result fast, which keeps people moving toward the paywall.
- Sell a small one-off for people who won't subscribe. $2.99 for four guest scans earns money from users who would otherwise leave (App Store).
- Show the results on social video. Instagram, TikTok and Meta ads are the listed channels (TrustMRR). Before-and-after body content works well in short video.
- Watch the margin. A 40% margin (TrustMRR) is half that of Calyra or Stat AI. Paid acquisition is likely the cost, but the sources don't break costs down.
Unknowns
- Ad spend, CAC, and organic versus paid split
- Why the two sites' subscriber counts differ (2,017 vs 5,326). The whatsthe.app figure is older, but the gap is large.
- Trial length and churn, especially renewal rates on discounted yearly plans
